London: Windsor, The Castle, The City, and The Long Walk
On Saturday I finally got out of town – took the train to Windsor to see Windsor Castle and The Long Walk
Some parts of the castle are still under construction – or being fixed I guess:

This Castle was built with protection in mind. Here’s a kind of window, seemingly designed so you can put aim a bow and arrow at attackers and avoid exposure yourself.

The “Long Walk” is a several mile long road or path with nice trees on both sides. At one point you have to cross a highway but then the walk continues through a “deer park”. I walked off the path into some fields and you couldn’t see any humans, or, unfortunately, any deer. At the end of the Long Walk you end up at a monument and can look back and barely see the castle.

Then , guess what, it’s a long walk back to the castle and town. Lots of proper coffee and snack places in town fortunately.
I also took a short river tour (no to great) and walked into Eaton.
