Cutting a straight line, drilling a straight hole
With my minimal set of tools in the garage which consists primarily of a cheap jigsaw for cutting wood, it’s getting increasingly annoying that I can’t cut a straight line and probably can’t drill a straight (90 degree) hole.
I was looking into table saw reviews and stumbled across this weblog, Bench Saw Diaries in which the author describes how he uses a fairly cheap saw (Delta TS220LS ) and is happy with it.
I found that the writings hit right on to what I was thinking…with lines like:
“All I want is to drill straight and true holes in wood. Is that so much to ask?”
“Would it explode? wherein I turn on the saw… For me, turning on a new power tool for the first time feels like standing on a high diving board.”
