My 1991 Silver NSX is for sale -- and don't get distracted by the pictures! This is not a photo gallery. But what can I say - it's a beautiful car that photographs well.

General

Fun to drive, quick, sounds great thanks to improved exhaust.

Common question is "is that car new" even the rare times when it's not washed for a couple of weeks.

I live and work near LAX/South Bay/West LA.

The VIN is: JH4NA115XMT002084 and you may want get a report at http://www.carfax.com/.

The car is one of 276 made ( http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/General/productionnumbers.htm).

Car was picture of the month on NSX Prime in July 1999.

First Time NSX Buyer?

If this is your first NSX and you've never owned a sports car before - be careful. The care is awesome. You can get going fast, well, really fast.

To learn more about buying NSXs see http://www.nsxprime.com/ for all kinds of great info.

Silver is a fairly rare color. If you have no real preference you should consider black and red and leave this car for someone searching for Silver.

Car History

You'll be the 4th owner.

I'm the 3rd owner and have had it since 1999. I've just used it mostly as a commuter car (South Bay to Santa Monica). And it's great at that. No problem in stop and go traffic, but when things open up - wow.

I haven't taken it on the track and it's only been on one long drive with me (Big Sur).

The 2nd owner (San Diego) took great care of it and had impecable records. He had it from 17,500 miles to 45k. He may have tracked it once or twice.

The 1st owner (San Diego Doctor) had it for a couple years but I have no info on him.

Care & Maintenance

As much as possible I've had all work done at NSX Modified by Larry Garcia et. al.. (No endorsement implied by the name dropping however...)

As a kind of last resort the local Acura dealer (Santa Monica). Only professionals have worked on the car i.e. I haven't really touched it.

The car is rarely parked outside day or night and as I haven't had the chance (too much work) for many long drives, I've avoided sandstorms in the desert and other harmful forces of nature.

Interior

The Gear shift has been replaced with a silver Sola knob.

A Valentine 1 radar detector with custom center/inbetween-seat mount is installed - and some people have taken measurements so they can copy it. I guess as this is a unique way of installing these. The remote display and remote audio is on the steering wheel column.

The sound system is stock and the ancient stock phone has been removed so you'll have room in the center console between the seats.

Noone has smoked in the car.

Front driver seat leather has a flaw, a small crack/slit in it. I think this is common based on reading about other cars for sale. The edge of the seat shows wear.

Window regulators have been replaced.

Brakes

There are RM slotted rotors and some kind of air deflector shields on front inside of wheels for better cooling.

Tires & Wheels

Stock Yokohama A-022H tires. Rear recently replaced, fronts have lots of tread ("80% tread remaining" was recently quoted by the tire shop I use). Never a problem with slipping in the rare LA rain despite the tires stickiness. Stock wheels.

Exhaust

Stock replaced with an after market one as recommended by NSX Modified. Much better than stock sound but not unreasonably loud. Probably adds a few horses.

If I want to it can set of car alarms in underground garages, which is kind of amusing at times, but it's not so loud that it wakes up the neighbors kids.

Engine, Gears, Transmission

Runs great. A high flow air intake [not air filter] has been installed. Japanese short gears.

Recently: it became clear that the AC wasn't cold and there's some hose that's leaking - this may be fixed before the car is sold. I have an estimate regardless.

Body

For the most part: no dents or dings and looks great, however recently the rear bumper got scraped - approx 1" x 4" and it hasn't been fixed yet.

Rubber front spoiler lip/air dam has scrapes and I replace it every couple years.

What's Missing?

No abusive mods or care.
No chip replacements or engine thrashing.
No nitrous.
No lending car to friends for test drives.
Almost total avoidance of valet and mall parking. I'm almost 100% sure it has never been valet parked. The rare times I go shopping the car sits alone far away from the other unfriendly cars.

Recent work: (end of 2001)

I had a major service done by NSX Modified last fall: And around the same time the rear tires were replaced.

Also

I think I have complete records for myself and the previous owner.

Stock 6 CD player.

All normal things the car comes with like power windows, power doors, power seats, V6/3.0 liter VTEC, factory mats, clear/clean title, etc.

Now What?
