Working with Tropo & SSL

A few things to note when utilizing SSL with a Tropo application (where you define HTTPS for your application Voice or SMS URL, or use an HTTPS URL for an audio file or other asset in your application):

  1. The certificate must be signed by a CA - Tropo will reject self-signed certificates.
  2. We do not currently support Server Name Indication (SNI) - this means you need a dedicated IP for your certificate.
  3. You will need SSL active on your server, not just TLS.
  4. Your SSL Cert must be in the default Java Keystore provided in jdk 1.8u74 (this will change as we update our JDK, but is accurate as of September 2016).
