Comparing Development, Production, and Verified Accounts

In Tropo, each account is able to run applications in either the Developer or Production environment. Instead of Developer and Production accounts, we have Developer and Production applications. Developer applications are not billed for usage, have restrictions on their capabilities, and are intended only for testing and developing your application. Once you have actual real-world usage of your application, you need to move it to Production. Moving to Production requires that you have a billing method (typically a credit card) configured on your account. Production applications have the usage limitations removed and the throttles increased, and any usage allowed by our Terms of Service is allowed here.

Regardless of the application type, until your account has been verified by our support team, you will not be able to make outbound voice calls or send text messages.

The following chart explains the differences between the various account types.
