answer

This is an optional method that answers or 'picks up' an incoming call. This automatically occurs when using most of the methods, like ask or say; it's only explicitly defined if you need to do something before sending media (such as using wait to delay an initial say).

An exception to the automatic inclusion of answer is redirect; answer is never called before redirect as redirect only works if it's used prior to the call connecting.

Do not include answer when making outbound calls; it will likely cause anomalies in your application.
